IELTS SPEAKING TEST

How do you feel about art?

I love art! It’s a great way to express yourself and your creativity. I think it’s important to have in your life.

What form of art do you like the most?

I like all forms of art, but if I had to choose one it would be painting. I love how you can take a blank canvas and turn it into something beautiful. It’s like magic.

What kind of art are you best at?

I am best at painting and drawing. I love using bright colors and patterns in my paintings and often draw inspiration from nature or everyday objects. I also enjoy sculpting and working with clay. I often make figurines or abstract sculptures.

In your childhood, what experience with art did you have?

I was raised in a family that valued the arts and had many opportunities to engage with various art forms throughout my childhood. My parents took me to see countless art exhibitions and performances, and I was enrolled in after-school art classes from a young age. As a result, art has always been a central part of my life and continues to be one.

Did you do any artistic activities when you were a child?

Yes, I used to draw and paint a lot when I was younger. I also used to do a lot of crafts with my mom. I loved making things out of paper, yarn, and fabric.

Did you learn any artistic activities when you were a child?

Yes, I learned how to draw and paint as a child. My parents enrolled me in art classes at the local community center, and I loved going to them. I would spend hours upon hours drawing and painting, and it was always a great way to express myself. I still enjoy doing art today, and I think it’s something that has helped shape who I am as a person.

Did you ever do any artwork when you were a child?

No, I never really did any artwork when I was a child. I didn’t have any interest in it. I thought art was something other people did, not something I could do. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized that art is something anyone can do. It doesn’t matter if you’re a child or an adult – art is for everyone. There are no rules or limits. You can just create whatever you want.

Do you ever buy (or have you ever bought) a painting?

I once bought a painting from an artist at a fair. It was an abstract landscape and I liked it. However, I don’t buy paintings very often.

IELTS SPEAKING TEST

Do you think art is an important part of life?

Yes, I think art is an important part of life. It can express emotions and feelings that words cannot describe. Art can also tell stories and provide insight into different cultures. It can be used to communicate messages and ideas, as well as to create something beautiful.

I frequently email my close friend, Sarah, who lives in a different city. We’ve been friends for years, and even though we talk regularly on social media, I like to send more personal, thoughtful emails to her from time to time.

IELTS SPEAKING TEST

When I email Sarah, I usually update her on my life and ask about hers. We talk about various topics, such as work or studies, recent books or movies we’ve enjoyed, and sometimes we discuss travel plans or upcoming events. I also share any personal thoughts, ideas, or even small achievements that I want to celebrate with her. Occasionally, I might send her articles or links to things I think she’d find interesting, like a book review or a new recipe I want to try. Our emails are informal and friendly, but they help us stay connected and informed about each other’s lives.

I email Sarah about once every two weeks. While we text or chat online more frequently, I find that email allows me to write in a more reflective and detailed way. I don’t write to her every day, but I try to make it a habit every couple of weeks, depending on our schedules.

I send emails to Sarah because she is a close and trusted friend, and it’s a way for us to maintain a deeper connection. Emails allow us to have thoughtful, meaningful conversations that might get lost in short texts. Since we live in different places, it’s an important way for me to keep her up-to-date on my life, hear about hers, and maintain the strong bond we’ve always had.

IELTS SPEAKING TEST

Do you think writing emails is important?

Yes, I believe writing emails is still important. While instant messaging is convenient for quick exchanges, emails allow for more structured and thoughtful communication. They are especially useful for professional matters, but even in personal relationships, emails help in keeping things organized and allow for more reflection. I also think emails are better for keeping a record of important conversations or sharing detailed information.

Do you think people write fewer letters today than in the past?

Absolutely. The rise of digital communication, such as email, instant messaging, and social media, has made traditional letter writing much less common. In the past, people relied on handwritten letters to communicate, but now, most interactions are quicker and more immediate. While this has its advantages, I think something personal like a handwritten letter still carries a lot of emotional value, though fewer people are doing it these days.

IELTS SPEAKING TEST

What are the advantages of sending emails instead of letters?

Emails offer several advantages over traditional letters. First, they are much faster – you can send an email in seconds, and it can be received almost immediately. They are also more convenient, as you don’t need to buy stamps or go to the post office. Emails also allow you to attach documents, photos, or links easily, which is something a traditional letter cannot do. Additionally, emails are environmentally friendly since there’s no paper involved.

Are there any disadvantages to emailing instead of writing letters?

One disadvantage of emails is that they can sometimes feel less personal than handwritten letters. When you write a letter by hand, there’s a more intimate, personal touch to it. Also, emails can be misinterpreted easily due to the lack of tone and context, whereas in a letter, you can better express emotions through your handwriting or choice of words. Another downside is the overwhelming amount of digital communication we receive daily, making it easy to miss important emails.
