IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1
You recently had your computer fixed at a local computer store, however, you are not pleased with the service you received. Write a letter to the store manager. In the letter:
-describe the situation
-explain why you are dissatisfied
-say what you want the manager to do
Write at least 150 words.
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I recently received at your computer store. Last week, I brought in my laptop to have its keyboard repaired and was told it would be ready within three days.
However, when I collected it, I noticed that not only was the keyboard still unresponsive, but the screen had also developed a flickering problem that did not exist before. I also found the staff unhelpful when I pointed out the issue—they simply suggested I pay extra for another repair, which I found unacceptable given the poor service I already received.
I would appreciate it if you could arrange for my laptop to be properly repaired at no additional cost. Alternatively, I would expect a full refund for the initial service fee. I hope you will address this matter promptly.
