IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You have just received a credit card statement from your bank. The statement lists a number of expensive purchases that you are sure you did not make. Write a letter to the bank manager. In the letter:

-Introduce yourself.

-Explain that you did not buy the items listed. – I am on vacation

-Say what you would like the bank to do to fix the problem.- investigate the case/send revised credit card statement

SAMPLE ANSWR

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to inform you about an issue regarding my recent credit card statement. My name is [Your Full Name], and I have been a customer of your bank for the past five years.

Upon checking my latest statement, I noticed several expensive purchases that I did not make. In fact, I am currently on vacation abroad and have not used my credit card during this period. It appears that my card details may have been misused.

I kindly request you to investigate this matter immediately and block my card to prevent further unauthorized transactions. Additionally, please send me a revised statement once the investigation is completed and the incorrect charges are removed.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.
