The pie charts present the results of a survey conducted on Bowen Island, highlighting visitors’ perceptions of its most significant advantages and disadvantages.

Overall, the high cost of living was the most frequently cited drawback, whereas the people were regarded as the island’s main attraction.

In terms of drawbacks, about half of the visitors identified the high cost of living as the major disadvantage, far exceeding any other factor. Entertainment was mentioned by a quarter of visitors (25%), with a further

15% citing poor weather as a drawback. Food quality was also regarded as a weakness by 10% of those surveyed, making it the least significant concern.

As for positive aspects, 42% of the respondents highlighted the people as the strongest aspect. The proportion of survey participants who pointed to the scenery stood at 35%. In addition, 12% of respondents mentioned culture, which was only one percentage point higher than those who cited good communication as a benefit.
