IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You recently attended a job interview, but you have not received any feedback yet. Write a letter to the Human Resources manager.

In your letter:

– Introduce yourself and mention the position you applied for

– Explain why you believe the interview went well

– Request an update on the result and explain why you need it promptly.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Mr. Andersen.

My name is Tomás Alcaide, and I am writing to you regarding the interview we had last week, for the Head Coach position that your company advertised on their website. I remember that when we were finishing, you told me I would have news from you by yesterday.

Therefore, I am contacting you because I had a good feeling after our meeting, basically due to the great comments you and your team made about my educational background and previous experience. Additionally, to the well management that I demonstrated during the practical part of your evaluation.

Having these points in consideration, I would appreciate it if you could give me an update on my application regarding the several job meetings that I have scheduled for the next weekend.

Hoping to have news from you in the next days and thanking you in advance for your prompt response.
