The line graph illustrates the output of timber, pulp, and paper in a European country over a 20-year period from 1980 to 2000.

Overall, paper production showed a steady increase throughout the period, while timber production declined. Pulp production, on the other hand, remained relatively stable with some fluctuations.

In 1980, timber was the leading product at around 220 million tonnes, but this figure gradually decreased to approximately 140 million tonnes by 2000. Pulp production started at about 130 million tonnes, fluctuated slightly, and ended the period at a similar level.

Conversely, paper production began at nearly 100 million tonnes in 1980 and experienced continuous growth, surpassing both timber and pulp to reach about 230 million tonnes in 2000.

This suggests a shift in the forest industry focus from raw material extraction (timber) to processed goods (paper), likely driven by increased demand for paper products.
