SAMPLE ANSWER
The bar chart illustrates the labour costs per hour in six different cities in 2007, broken down into wages for time worked and other labour costs such as holiday pay and social contributions.
Overall, labour costs were highest in F city and lowest in A city. In all cities, wages for time worked made up the largest proportion of total labour costs.
F city had the highest total cost, nearly $30 per hour, with wages accounting for about $20. Similarly, E and D cities had high labour costs, each exceeding $20 per hour, though E city had a slightly larger portion of non-wage costs. C city had moderate costs, just under $20 per hour, while B and A cities had the lowest, with A city’s total cost barely reaching $10.
Notably, the proportion of non-wage costs varied, being smallest in A city and most significant in F and D cities.
