The following diagram shows a cross-section of a camera and its parts. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
SAMPLE ANSWER
The diagram illustrates the internal structure and the optical pathway of a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera. It highlights the key components involved in image capture.
Light enters the camera through the lens elements positioned at the front. This light then follows a defined path, initially hitting a rotating mirror. When the mirror is down, it reflects the light upward onto a focusing screen. From there, the light passes through a pentaprism, which redirects it towards the eyepiece, enabling the photographer to preview the scene accurately.
When the shutter button is pressed, the rotating mirror flips upward, allowing light to pass directly through to the digital sensor behind the shutter. This sensor records the image electronically.
Overall, the diagram demonstrates the coordinated function of optical and mechanical components, including the rotating mirror and pentaprism, which enable both image previewing and capturing in a DSLR camera.
