IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You wrote to the Harvey School of English last month asking for a brochure and for details of how to arrange accommodation.

– You have received nothing. You have telephoned but only spoken to the caretaker.

– Write a letter to the school owners.

– Explain the situation and tell them what you want to happen.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my concern regarding a request I made last month for a brochure and information about accommodation at your school, which I have yet to receive. On [date], I contacted your office via email, but despite waiting for a reasonable amount of time, I have not received a response.

To follow up, I telephoned the school recently, but unfortunately, I was only able to speak with the caretaker, who was unable to provide the information I required. This lack of communication has been quite frustrating, as I am eager to learn more about your programs and how to arrange accommodation for my upcoming stay.

I would appreciate it if you could kindly send me the requested brochure as well as details on how I can arrange accommodation for my visit. Additionally, I would be grateful if you could confirm the best way to reach the appropriate department for further inquiries.
