Contemporary: belonging to or occurring in the present.
Sentence: Although the play was written hundreds of years ago, it still has a contemporary feel to it.
Prevailing: existing in a particular place or at a particular time:
Sentence: The bank said it will buy the shares at the prevailing market price.

Multifaceted: having a variety of different and important features or elements.
Sentence: We see only the U.S. side of a story that is at least two-sided, if not multifaceted.
Intricate: difficult to understand; obscure; complex; puzzling
Sentence: The slow section for the four leading dancers is intricate and complex.
Pertinent: relevant or applicable to a particular matter; apposite.
Sentence: “she asked me a lot of very pertinent questions”

Substantial: of considerable importance, size, or worth.
Sentence: the first meal of the day should be substantial
Surmised: to guess something, without having much or any proof
Sentence: I surmised you must have some reason for doing this
Conjecture: an opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information.
Sentence: This conjecture can be neither proved nor disproved
Unfounded: having no foundation or basis in fact.
Sentence: Our fears about the weather proved totally unfounded.

Conceded: admit or agree that something is true after first denying or resisting it.
Sentence: The company says that workers are not conceding enough in negotiations.
Notion: a conception of or belief about something.
Sentence: I have long since abandoned the notion that higher education is essential to either success or happiness.
Exemplar: a typical or good example of something:
Sentence: He is an exemplar of this new breed of politician.
Ramifications: a complex or unwelcome consequence of an action or event.
Sentence: we need to consider the possible ramifications of the different options
