IELTS Speaking Interview
Do you like to watch the sky?
Yes, I do! Actually, my region in Spain, Andalusia, is known for having over 300 days of sun a year! With this said, there are few things more relaxing than lying out on the beach on summer afternoons, staring up at the cloudless sky. Furthermore, the sunsets here are just magnificent, often displaying colors like cotton candy. Since I live on the tenth floor of my building, I almost always watch the sunset.
Do you like to watch stars?
Absolutely! For one, it’s a very romantic activity, so I like to do it with my boyfriend. Moreover, I like to go out to star-gaze with my friends. We have a fun activity where we try to find different shapes in the stars then call them out to each other.

What is the sky like at night in your hometown?
Marvelous! Since there isn’t much light pollution here, you can see the stars very clearly at night. I sometimes like to go out on the beach at night with a blanket and gaze (watch) at the brilliance of the shining stars. It makes me feel in awe of just how amazing the universe is. There are few things more romantic than that!
Have you ever taken a course about stars?
No, I have never formally studied Astronomy since it wasn’t available at my school. However, I think it would be interesting. Fortunately, my grandfather was really into astronomy so he shared his knowledge with me, as well as gifted me an encyclopedia loaded with useful information.
What’s your favorite star?
I’d have to say the star constellation Orion, which is easily spotted on winter nights. I find this constellation interesting because it has everything, including a giant red star which could explode at any moment, a young blue star, and even a nebula where new stars are being born. It’s complex and magnificent!

Well, with time, we develop various qualities, and these qualities define our personality, but some qualities we could not maintain for a long time.
Here, I am going to talk about one such quality that I had in childhood, but I do not possess any more. It’s the quality of being very friendly and outgoing. In childhood, I was of a very friendly nature, or I can say I was quite an extrovert.
I had many friends at school, and they all enjoyed my company. I was a very jolly and lively personality, so they always love to be around me. Apart from school, I had many friends in the neighbourhood as well. After school, I had a lot of time, and I often hit the playground and spent hours playing there; and there, I also made many friends, and I used to love chatting and talking to my friends.
However, with time the study pressure increased for that reason, I stopped going to the playground and started to focus on my studies; this way, I lost many friends that I made at the playground similarly, I also got Obsessed with technology and for that reason, I started to spend more and more time playing computer games or using social networking websites rather than enjoying the company of my friends and gossiping with them.
Where I used to remain surrounded with buddies all the time; today, I have a very limited friend circle. l sometimes feel that it is a negative development because today, my friendship or relationship with friends are not as strong as they used to be, and it is just because of my reserved and introvert nature.
I hope I will develop an easy-going and extrovert nature in future, and once again, I will become friendly like earlier.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
What qualities, according to you, are required for any person to be admired?
Well, there are many qualities a person should possess to be admired such as bravery, kindness and helping nature. But the single most important quality is the helping nature of that person which makes him admired among other people.
Do you think people who are famous are more admired than others?
In one sense, yes. People who are famous have accomplished success in their life. This success can transfix so many people and they get flattered by these famous people. However, to get flattered by famous people and admire them are totally different. Even famous people should have the qualities such as compassion and honesty to get admired.
Which celebrities, according to you, should be admired more? Politicians, authors, sports person or movie star?
I think the person should not be admired because of certain talent he has got. He should be admired for the human qualities. If a movie star is highly popular and successful but does not have helpful nature or a politician who does not possess compassion for poor people should not be admired.
