IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You forgot an item of clothing at the hotel where you stayed recently. Write a letter to the hotel manager and include the following:

– When did you stay and in what room?

– Describe the item you left behind.

– What would you like the manager to do about it?

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Manager,

This is Crucial chotaliya. I am writing this letter to notify you, that I stayed in room 601 on the 21st of April 2021 in your hotel for 2 days. At the time of completing the checkout, I managed to collect all essential items and everything went really smooth during my stay.

However, When I reached home. I came to know that I left an idol of Lord Ganesha by the Night lamp Table. It has been very lucky God’s idol for me, which was gifted to me by my late grandfather and I had it since I was 18-years-old. It is a brown small idol of Lord Ganesha particularly of sandalwood, which has a mantra carved on it, Which says “Shree Ganesha Namah”.

I would really appreciate it if you can take care of posting it to my home via Canadapost Service. I will bear the postages as well. My address is unit 203,523 14th ave southwest Calgary, AB, T2R0M4.
