Tips For Map Solving 

  • Location checking at prior must be done. In this you need to check the given locations in the map. 
  • Predict the language that can be used in the map illustrates. 
  • Look for given directions on the map.
  • Answers fill follow the order 
  • Most of the time illustration is done by guided tours so it will follow the order of places given. 
  • Focus finding nouns given rather than extra information spoken. 
  • You are allowed to note extra. Freely jot down the notes. 
  • Use signposting language like ‘The next room we are about to see is…’, or ‘If you now follow me to….’, to help you understand each stage of the talk.

Common Difficulties 

  • Unfamiliarity with the vocabulary used. To overcome this difficulty focus on the given vocabulary used.  Practice it thoroughly. 
  • Some aspirants are not habitual of listening the given information This question requires you to not only listen but to also follow a description or directions, understand the map or diagram and write short notes, all at the same time
  • Another issue is of spell errors. This occurs because you need to do number of things. 
  • Visualisation – In this you need to work with all your senses. This refers to your ability to form mental visual images. You are required to solve a random map which you have never seen before. Unless you can imagine what it looks like it is very difficult to answer these questions.
