SAMPLE ANSWER
Exams are meant to be hard because they are set to test our “knowledge”. But, then there are some exams which are so hard that we just wish that we didn’t have to face it. Today, I would like to talk about one such exam that left me “shattered’ for many months.
It was a “math” exam which I needed to take during my school days about a few years ago in order to get admitted to one of the most prestigious high schools in my country. So, I knew what kind of an uphill battle it was going to be because so many high school students – brilliant and smart students that are – from around the country were going to fight for their places in that particular high school.
Anyway, I was also mentally prepared for the exam, or at least I thought so because I spent a significant amount of time to study all kinds of high school math, that included many challenging formula and problems from algebra, geometry and trigonometry. So, when the time to take the exam finally arrived, I headed to the test centre with a very positive frame of mind.

The exam questions were handed out to me, and I immediately became busy in writing answers to the questions. However, after starting answering the questions, I found out that for some mysterious reasons, I was taking a bit longer than usual to answer most of the questions. Even more bad news was waiting for me when I found that the questions in the geometry sections were way tougher than I had initially anticipated. So, naturally, I became a bit nervous and ended up leaving most of the questions unanswered eventually.
Anyway, the exam was hard for me mainly because I couldn’t manage my time properly in answering many of the questions. Besides, most of the questions in the geometry section didn’t quite match the question pattern I was hoping for. Finally, it became hard for me also because I started to panic and couldn’t quite focus to understand the questions in the geometry section.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
Did you ever see a celebrity in your life?
Yeah, I happened to see a celebrity recently in a music show. I got the chance to see the famous singer Arijit in his music performance in a big hotel in Mumbai. Since I am his big fan, I bought tickets for his show and was able to see him performing live among the audience. It was such a mesmerising performance that I would never be able to forget this moment in my life.
Do you remember the friends you had made in childhood?
Yes, I very well remember my childhood friends. They are actually in touch with me every time though social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. A number of times we meet together in family functions and festivals to celebrate. The kind of friendship we had since childhood, we cannot forget at all and we would continue this in the future as well.
IELTS Speaking Interview
Is it easy to make friends now as compared to the past?
I think it is comparatively easy to make friends now as compared to the ancient times when there never used to be so much technology available and the mode of communication had no existence at all. But now, you have social media websites where you can make new friends within seconds. For example, Facebook is the website where people send requests to each other and become friends in no time.
What are the important qualities of a good friend?
A good friend should, first of all, be trustworthy and honest. If you cannot trust someone, he cannot be your true friend. Apart from these qualities, a friend should be understanding and helpful so that he can help you at the time you face any difficulty or troublesome situation in your life. Let’s say, if you need money, a good friend would help you with the money you can borrow at the time of financial constraints.
