Tips to Improve IELTS Speaking and Writing

In IELTS Reading and Listening there is no need to gather outer information as you everything is give in the paragraphs or in audio you just have to locate them properly. On the other hand if you talk about IELTS Speaking and Writing you have to be very creative and must have some knowledge about the given topic. Due to this reason many candidates lose score in these modules. Moreover, if you want to get good scores in Speaking you have to be fluent and in Writing you should have good time management skills. So today in this article we will share some Tips to Improve IELTS Speaking and Writing.

For speaking

1. To improve your fluency and confidence you should start the conversation in English with your friends. In this way you will represent your ideas in a smart way as you can speak easily, confidently, fluently and quite simply with your friends.

2. When answering a question, take a few seconds to align your thoughts completely and answer the question as per its demand. If a question is about which sport you like, it is very easy that you can miss the track and end up talking about your favorite sports person.

3. Don’t get surprised by the question you are asked. There are many practice tests that you can find online which will give you an idea of what kind of questions you may expect.

4. It is not compulsory to use complicated words or long sentences to appear like someone knowledgeable. Speak the way you are comfortable with, the way you speak generally. Your discomfort can permeate through your body and make you nervous.

5. Also, A grammatically wrong sentence will definitely lead to a deduction but using simple language may help you in securing your bands. For example – ‘The advent of technology has changed the business world’ can be replaced with ‘Recent developments in technology have changed the business world’. Making these small changes can help you sail smoothly through the speaking test.

6. Body language also matter a lot while speaking. It is the combination of facial expressions, gestures and movements which convey good message in front of examiner. So, make sure your body language will be full of expressions and confident.

For writing

1. Try to use the correct sentence first. It is very easy to report the information in the wrong tense because you have so many things to think about but that is the significant mistake. So try to pay attention towards your question what they asking for??

2. Utilize your time with good way. Try to spend 40 minutes on task 2 and 20 minutes on task 1 because your task 2 contains more band score and also it’s too long. So, you need to give more priority on task 2 but it doesn’t mean that you ignore the Task 1.

3. Don’t forget to count your words after completing the tasks. Many students spend too much time to complete the both task then they don’t have time to count the word limit. So complete your both task 5 minute before and spend that 5 minutes to count the word limit and for proof reading. Counting words don’t mean that you count each and every word use a technique to accomplish the thing quickly.

4. Most of the students are not sure about their own point of view. They just start writing without thinking about the demand of essay. Due to this you lose your band score. So you should be very clear that your answer will be specific and direct.
