IELTS Speaking Questions
Do you like amusement parks?
I love them! I think they are something that all ages can enjoy. I still feel just as excited about them now as I did when I was a child. There’s nothing like the feeling of your stomach dropping on a rollercoaster.
How often do you go to amusement parks?
Not very often anymore, maybe once every few years. However, in the past, we used to go every year. Nowadays, we go every few years. We’re planning on going to Six Flags this October for Halloween, actually. They always have a special event there with haunted houses and costumes!
What do you usually do at amusement parks?
Rides, eat at concession stands, go swimming, and wait in line for a long time! My favorite rides are roller coasters and water rides, especially on hot days. For example, I love the log flume ride where you get a huge splash at the end. Moreover, I love the wave pools and lazy rivers.
IELTS Speaking Questions
Have you ever been to any island?
Yes, I have! Actually, I lived on an island for 3 months back in 2016. My mother was offered to work at a resort for 2 years, so I joined them there for 3 months. Island life was quite an interesting experience!
Are there any islands in your country?
Yes, there are. There is one famous island called X, famed for its crystal clear water and white sands. I’ve heard the pagodas are very interesting to visit there, as well. I haven’t been yet, but I dream of going there for a girls getaway sometime in the future.
Do you want to live on an island if you have a chance?
Not really. Islands are beautiful, but I felt really isolated when I lived on one before. As I’m an active person, I felt there wasn’t much to do. Sure, the beach is great, but it gets boring day after day.
IELTS Speaking Questions
What do you like to do when you are on an island?
Beach of course! Behind that, I like getting to know the local culture and food. I especially enjoy drinking coconut water fresh off the palm trees and trying local fish recipes. Moreover, I enjoy getting hair braided by local people.

SAMPLE ANSWER
Typing on a keyboard without looking at that is a special skill and recently I have learnt to type by not looking at the keyboard.
When I was 10 years old, my father bought me a computer, it was impossible for me to type without looking at the keys. It took longer hours for me to type a single page by searching the letters on the keys. It was a troublesome task for me and most of the time I had to type different topics on computer. But I could not complete the tasks in due time for my lack of skills in typing. When I started to type, it appeared to me that the letters should be placed on the keyboard alphabetically for better use. But gradually I learnt that this way is better than the alphabetical letters.
IELTS Speaking Questions
Basically I learnt the skill at my home using my personal computer. In the very beginning, it was tougher for me to compose anything on the computer with the keyboard attached with it and it took longer hours for me to compose a document of three or four pages. So, I started using internet to get some ways to learn typing. I found some special applications that allow the users to get the desired typing skill. Besides, the applications also helped me to make the typing faster than it was in the beginning.
All of the earned skills are useful in real life but the applications may differ in situations. When I started learning the skill, I thought that it would be of no use in my practical life and I am wasting my times. But when I took part in my work, I was surprised by the applications of typing. I have started serving the office in different ways with the typing skill.
IELTS Speaking Questions
As a result, my fame has increased as a typing expert and accordingly the office has evaluated my performance. I have been promoted to senior administrative officer after three months when I applied the skill to my daily works at the workplace. So, it appears to be a very useful skill for me.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
What skills can children learn in school?
Well, I think it’s important for children to learn all the basic and traditional academic skills at school, you know, like math, language, science and so on. But it’s also important that they are encouraged to develop their ability in critical and analytical thinking. Then there are other skills, for example, creative skills and problem-solving abilities which should be nurtured while at school. Certainly at the school I attended that was the case, with a lot of emphasis on the development of creative and problem-solving skills.
What do you think of the role of family for children to learn skills?
With regard to skills which should be learned at home, I believe that parents do have a responsibility to teach their children to be good citizens or responsible members of their community, and that is usually best done through setting them a good example through their own behavior as parents.
IELTS Speaking Questions
What is the most popular skill that people want to learn?
I suppose many young people are interested in technology skills because they seem to be almost essential in most careers nowadays. A lot of my friends are interested in people- based skills as well and are interested in pursuing careers in marketing and consulting so they are interested in the psychological and social aspects of managing people among other things. Another thing which is important is that many young people tend to be choosing a broader range of career paths these days, which involve a greater blend of skills from more traditional professions.
