Your friend had made a plan for you to see a movie together but you cannot now join him. You’ve found another friend who can go instead of you. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
– Explain why you cannot go anymore
– Say who can go instead of you
– Say why this person is a good person to go with

Dear ABC,
How are you? I thought of writing to you since we had decided to go out for a movie tomorrow and booked the tickets. Unfortunately / sadly, I won’t be able to accompany you to the movies.
I feel sorry to tell you this now, but there is no way I can join you tomorrow. There were no issues when I made the commitment but now my mother has told me about the health of my grandmother. She is not keeping well at home and I need to leave tonight to take care of her. My presence at home is required as my father is also out of station and travelling for some meetings.
I have requested another friend of mine, Daniel to accompany you tomorrow. He also wanted to watch this science fiction based movie and I am sure you will enjoy his company. He is a very talkative and friendly person. He will treat you well and you both can also have dinner together after the show. He also likes to play volleyball just like us. Once you both get to know each other well, we can invite him to our practice sessions.
