The following bar chart shows the different modes of transport used to travel to and from work in one European city in 1960, 1980 and 2000.

The given bar chart shows the various means of transport that people used to commute in a certain European country during the years 1960, 1980 and 2000.
Overall, it can be seen that the popularity of cars as a mode of transport increased while that of bikes plummeted. In 1960, approximately 35% of the people commuted to work on foot. The next popular modes of transport were bikes (25%) and buses (18%). Only about 5% of the people took buses to travel to and from work in that year.
In 1980, bus was the preferred mode of transport with as much as 25% of the people taking it. The other three modes were also reasonably popular. While 22% of the population used cars to reach office, bikes were popular among 20% of them. A little over 15% of the people commuted on foot.
In 2000, cars became the most popular means to commute. While as much as 35% of the population used cars to commute, only about 15% took buses. Bikes had even fewer users at just 5%.
