IELTS Speaking Vocabulary is Your Worst Enemy. 5 Steps to Defeat It

In IELTS, there are some fix question types for Reading and Listening which can be approached accurately with some strategies and tricks. Writing and Speaking are the most difficult sections for the IELTS aspirants as there is no fix answers for them and even one have to use variety of vocabulary to express their views. Today in this article we will discuss how we can improve vocabulary for speaking. So if IELTS Speaking vocabulary is your worst enemy, here are 5 steps to defeat it.

Step 1:

The most effective tool which can enhance your score in speaking is vocabulary so the first thing to do is enhance your vocabulary. It is a bit long process and don’t think that you can do it in a day or two. Follow the step by step process to get your destination. First of all make a list of words which you think can make your sentence impressive and can be used in multiple sentences. Try to use a mixed combination of verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and few phrases also. Now, after noting all the words try to learn them by heart. If you will arrange them alphabetically it will be bit easy to learn them, after learning try to repeat them. You will not get all of them in first try so, write all the words that come in your mind and find the missing ones. Learn again the words that you missed and repeat this process until all the words get into your mind.

Step 2:

Learning vocabulary is not enough as you should know when and how to use them. To enhance this skill you should select a cue card and write at least 100 words in this work you try to use as much as words you can use according to the topic. Practice this on daily basis you will definitely enhance your vocabulary treasure.

Step 3:

After this exercise you will come to know how many of your learned words are more useful and can be used on multiple occasions. Note that words on a piece of paper and read them whenever you start doing your IELTS preparation.

Step 4:

Now you have a pocket full of good and sound vocabulary it time to implement those words practically. For warm up and remove your hesitation  it is necessary to speak in English with someone for this go to friend or you teacher who has good knowledge of the language try to communicate with him. Once you get confident try to speak on random or latest speaking topics and don’t forget to use your selected words. In the initial stage no matter if you speak for less time but in a week or two you will see that your speaking length is increasing.

Step 5:

In step 1 you must have chosen 100 words for the exercise out of which you used only 30-35, what about the remaining ones, are they waste? No repeat the steps 1 to 3 again until all the words are embossed in your mind. When you finish with the words make another list and learn it by this you will not even recognize when your vocabulary treasure will fill. These words will not only help you in speaking but also be useful in writing module.
