Aches and pains: minor pains that continue over a period of time.

Sentence– As the people goes older they start suffering for aches and pains.

To be a bit off colour: to feel a little ill.

Sentence– I am a bit off colour so I am feeling drowsy.

To be at death’s door: (informal) to be very ill indeed.

Sentence- Johnson was at death’s door but after surgery he recovered rapidly.

To be on the mend: to be recovering after an illness.

Sentence– My uncle is on the mend now.

To be over the worst: to have got through the most serious or uncomfortable stage of an illness.

Sentence – Before the death he was over the worst.

To be under the weather: (informal) to not feel well.

Sentence- I am under the weather as my nose is running since morning.

A blocked nose: when the nose has excess fluid due to a cold.

Sentence– I was not able to sleep due to blocked nose.

To catch a cold: to get a cold.

Sentence– I got wet in rain and catch a cold.

A check-up: a physical examination by a doctor.

Sentence– Doctors recommend a regular check-up after every six months

A chesty cough: a cough caused by congestion around the lungs.

Sentence– Baby has a chesty cough.
